South Glens Falls - A Small Town Community In Upstate NY

The village of South Glens Falls lies just east of the bridge over the Hudson River that separates it from the City of Glens Falls. This location is the home of Cooper’s Cave, made famous in a memorable scene from James Fenimore Cooper’s 1800’s novel, “The Last of the Mohicans”. Today, visitors can view the site of his inspiration and absorb the Revolutionary War history that is woven into the fabric of this historic community. With the Hudson River as a working backdrop, South Glens Falls, New York grew to be a hub of activity and industry for logging and papermaking.

Community pride is evident in events such as the South High Dance Marathon which has raised over $1,000,000 for charitable causes since its inception.

South Glens Falls has long been known for its unique family dining establishments that have been in business for more than a generation.

Small business is alive and well in this tight-knit community. Light manufacturing, cottage-style industry and small machine-tooling facilities make their homes here.

South Glens Falls is located in the Town of Moreau, which offers easy access to Moreau State Park. Lake sports, camping, and family activities are part of the appeal of this natural family playground. Hiking, biking, and canoeing are all popular pastimes.

Today, its close proximity to Lake George, Glens Falls, Saratoga, and points south make South Glens Falls an ideal location for living, working, and raising a family. It offers its residents a strong, old-fashioned connection between family and community.
